Sisters Keeper, a group which meets weekly, organised the Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event.
Sisters Keeper leader Colleen Palmer said the group was always looking to make a difference in the community.
"Nearly everyone has been impacted by cancer in some way," Mrs Palmer said.
The fundraiser on Friday, June 21 had a $1500 target.
Mrs Palmer said she thought the fundraising target would be exceeded.
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea events bring together people to raise funds to make a big difference to those impacted by cancer.
Fundraisers are staged across the country in May and June.
