The proposed new sporting precinct is located on the corner of Stoney Creek Road and the Oxley Highway, at the western end of Port Lane.
The project was one of several key projects outlined in Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's operational plan which was adopted at the ordinary council meeting on June 19.
The plan budgets for works projects for the 2019/20 financial year.
This will be, once completed, a wonderful facility for Wauchope and indeed the entire region.
- Cr Lisa Intemann
Once work is completed on the sporting precinct, it will be home to touch football fields; cricket fields; football, league and union fields; field lighting; a club room and grandstand with changerooms, canteen, kitchen and storerooms; multiple car parking areas; bus access; an off leash dog park and a children's playground.
