What I love so much about our region's libraries is just how different they are to the usual quiet reading places.
Whether it's a study space you're after, a ukulele to play or maybe you want to deep dive into the world of virtual reality, our libraries really are more than just books.
To make sure we continue to provide great library services on behalf of our growing community, we're asking you to share your ideas around what you'd like to see our libraries look like in the future.
Maybe a café at your local library is your thing, more wide-screen computers or music recording and podcast studios. Perhaps you would like to hire a bicycle at your library, or would love to see more outreach library vans visit your neighbourhood.
I encourage everyone to put on your thinking caps and imagine all the things that you'd love to see at your local library. Any idea big or small is on the table, and Council will use this feedback to develop strategies for how our libraries evolve in the years to come.
If you haven't been to a library for a while, why not head down to one of our libraries in Laurieton,
Wauchope or Port Macquarie and take a look. You may just find that some of your ideas have already come to life!
You can let us know what you think up until Monday 15 July, either online or face-to-face at your local library... or at one of the many community pop-up sessions planned for around the region in the coming weeks.
