Government funding for cancer services is critical, however particularly in regional areas, this funding can only go so far. The Hastings Cancer Trust helps to fill the gaps so that local cancer patients receive better treatment and care.
Lake Cathie Bowling Club recently hosted a fashions show and afternoon tea to spread the word about the work of the Trust and raise funds.
Over the years the Trust has funded a range of important technical and educational services as well as new medical equipment.
As part of the 2018-19 Grants Program, over $80,000 was awarded to recipients from a whole variety of cancer providers spread across the local region.
State of the art diagnostic medical equipment, training programs, sSupport for Wauchope Palliative Care, Hastings Home Hospice and the Port Macquarie Breast Cancer Support Group were examples of some of the projects funded by the Hastings Cancer Trust in 2018-19.
