A Hastings man for the last 35 years, Mr Lawler a physiotherapist and exercise physiologist is paying it forward offering his services free of charge on June 14.
The Wauchope physio says it is not about personal gain but about giving back to the community.
"The Wauchope and Hastings community has been so supportive of me over the years so I wanted to do something to give back," Mr Lawler said.
"The pay it forward day started a few years ago and each year it feels so good to be able to help those who haven't been able to see a health professional.
"There is no catch or deal with the day it is just about helping those who can't afford to come and seek help. The only thing I ask in return is for them to help someone else."
Over the years Mr Lawlor said he has had people come in chronic pain and a variety of illnesses asking for help.
"On pay it forward day we have had people come in asking for help treating and managing a range of conditions from diabetes and weight loss to chronic pain and strains.
"I would love to see other medical and health professionals take up the pay it forward day to really help those in the community who are doing it tough."
