When Hastings Valley clash with Southern Cross University, it will be more than just competition points on offer.
The club will hold the annual Dave Mccormack Memorial Day aiming to preserve what is already an imposing record.
If the Marlins thought their task was difficult to start with as they aim to end the Vikings undefeated season, there is another subplot.
"I can't remember us losing on Dave Mccormack Memorial Day because there is always something extra out on the field," Adam said.
"The Vikings wouldn't be the club they are without the contribution of dad and a few others.
"They were a struggling club who battled away, so we love playing on the day."
The former Hastings Valley captain said the family wanted to leave a lasting legacy for future years.
"We'd like to leave the club in a better place than what we arrived in," he said.
"It's funny because we all moved away and then all came back; now Hamish is captain, I used to be captain and mum's president.
As the days go by things can get forgotten, but the day is about remembering what dad contributed.

Marlins, however, know what it takes to win at Oxley Oval, having done so in the 2017 grand final.
Mccormack said they would be another tough opponent with AJ Gilbert holding the key to their performance.
"They only lost on the buzzer to Coffs Harbour who are going really well, so it's going to be a tough game that's for sure," he said.
"AJ knew dad from the juniors so he'll enjoy playing on the day too."
The halfback will return to the Vikings lineup after missing last weekend's 50-10 hammering of Port Macquarie.
He knows his team still have improvement in them.
"We've got to keep getting better; we're going to training wanting to get better and we can get heaps better," he said.
"There have been games where we've had a 10-minute spell where we're played at our potential so we need to get that up to 80 minutes."
First grade kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
