Who will it be this year?
Nominations are now open for the 2019 Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Awards. This is also the 20th year of the awards which seek to help upcoming sporting stars reach their potential.
In total, up to seven categories are up for grabs, including the junior sportsperson of the year (primary and high school), sportsperson with a disability, senior team of the year and junior team of the year.
The sporting volunteer of the year will also be announced in October while the Mayor's Sporting Fund Wayne Richards Sporting Scholarship will also be announced.
The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie Sunrise launched the Port Macquarie Hastings Sports Awards 20 years ago to encourage participation in sport and provide some financial support to local champions to help them achieve their sporting goals.
Nominations are open to all levels of athletes who live in the Port Macquarie-Hastings council area.
To nominate, head to the website with nominations to close at midnight on September 30.
