The surgical ward at Port Macquarie Base Hospital has three new comfy recliners thanks to the hard working volunteer group, Port Macquarie Pink Ladies.

The donation, valued at $5566, was gratefully accepted by surgical ward nursing unit manager Stephen Judd, who said the recliners will provide for more comfortable seating for patients and their relatives.
"The Pink Ladies are a tremendous asset to this hospital; always focused on the well-being and comfort of our patients," Mr Judd said.
"The recliners are a very welcome addition as they will make our patients' stay that much more comfortable, especially when they need to sit out of bed. The chairs will also be available to visitors who spend many hours with loved ones or friends in hospital."
Port Macquarie Pink Ladies President Gabby Gregory said she was delighted the donation was received with enthusiasm, not only by the nursing staff but also patients and their families.
"It's such a privilege to be part of this fantastic group of volunteers who work hard to provide patient comfort items to the hospital," Mrs Gregory said.
"We have 170 members who, last year, gave an amazing 18,300 volunteer hours to the hospital, its staff and patients.
"We also donated almost $15,000 in equipment and patient comfort items, none of which would have been possible without community support for our raffles.
"Our most recent fundraiser, our Mother's Day raffle, was an outstanding success, so we thank every person who bought a ticket for helping to make this latest donation possible."
