The event is set to be a dollop of indulgence and a dash of Hollywood on May 26, 10am-4pm.
Seventy-five years ago, the world's biggest comedian, Bob Hope, made an emergency landing on the Camden Haven River.
Hope and fellow entertainers Tony Romano (guitarist), Jerry Colonna (comedian), Frances Langford (singer) and Patty Thomas (dancer) had been touring the Pacific entertaining US troops serving in WW2.
The crew were aboard a Catalina aircraft flying from Guam to Sydney when mechanical problems arose.
The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing when over the mid north coast, and the wide Camden Haven River near North Haven was where he set the Catalina down.
Locals rowed boats to the plane, brought the entertainers and crew ashore and after telegrams were sent telling of the situation, the Hope and the gang put on a show in the Laurieton School of Arts Hall.
In 2019, Slice of Haven is marking the 75th anniversary of that fateful landing with a Hollywood vibe.
This year's theme is called, "It isn't Hollywood but..." honouring the book written by local historian Mitch McKay of the event in 1944.
There will be plenty to eat, see, do and drink. Bring your dancing shoes and your appetite to the Camden Haven River foreshore this Sunday.
Mitch will be at Slice of Haven telling some of these tales.
Visitors are encouraged to dress to the theme (if you like), joining stallholders in giving the day a Hollywood twist.
There will be big bands belting out the hits of the era, interactive drumming, mini golf, and a record Hokey Pokey attempt with the help of dancers from Movement Studios.
There will be plenty to eat, see, do and drink for all ages.
So, bring your dancing shoes and your appetite on Sunday May 26 to the Camden Haven River foreshore, Seymour Street Laurieton near the Laurieton United Services Club.
