Fourteen-year-old Emma Highland from Port Macquarie was a big winner at the recent Taree Eisteddfod (25th-26 March).

The MacKillop College student was the aggregate winner for her age group as well as the winner of the pop song, vocal song, song by an Australian composer, folk or traditional song, pop song by an Australian composer and music theatre amplified categories.
Emma said she was really surprised to win so many categories.
"I am quite new to the eisteddfod so I was surprised," she said.
She performed a range of songs including Ave Marie by Beyonce to Practically Perfect from the Mary Poppins movie.
Emma will perform a a concert on June 15 with all the aggregate winners.
She said she loves to sing.
"It is a different way to express emotions.
"Musical theatre is fun because you get to act and become a different person and just perform."
Emma was also the recipient of the a $750 scholarship from Tim Stacks Lawyers at the Taree Eisteddfod.
