In 2019, the towering winger has slotted into coach Dan Kemp's run-on side seamlessly.
Last weekend, playing in only his fifth first grade game the former centre or second-rower shared the points with former National Rugby League star Matt King.
King lined up for Wingham Tigers in their 28-4 win over the Breakers although Connor still managed to secure a personal highlight.
"I got a bullet of a ball from Trae Clarke and got on (King's) inside shoulder and caught him flat-footed," he recalled.
It was after King had come up with a strong defensive play earlier in the match to keep the Breakers scoreless.
"I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was good to get four points on him although he did hold me up once, so I'll give him credit for that," Connor said.
"He lived up to his name and played well."
Having a new position I personally found it difficult to play there because I'm so used to playing in the middle, but I've adapted well.
- Bailey Connor
Connor admitted it had been a challenge for him to adapt to a new role on the sideline after spending his career either one or two players further towards the middle of the defensive line.
"Having a new position I personally found it difficult to play there because I'm so used to playing in the middle, but I've adapted well," he said.
He was enjoying his weekly selection in the first grade side.
"With the forward pack and the centres we've got in first grade it was going to be hard to push those blokes out," he said.
"Playing on the wing there's a bit of pressure under the high balls but you get used to it."
This Saturday the Breakers will aim to bring Wauchope's undefeated start to the season to an end when they clash at Regional Stadium.
"It will be an interesting match," Connor said.
"Hopefully we have a stronger side this week; I think our forward pack will match them and I don't think they will be able to play with our speed.
We don't have the names of other sides because we're pretty much an unknown side, but they're all buying in to what we're doing.
- Anthony Boyd
"Hopefully that is used to our advantage."
Wauchope coach Anthony Boyd has embraced the underdog tag for his side after three rounds.
He's not too concerned about what other people think of his side and said their focus was on performing well as a team and everyone contributing.
"You can have the best names on paper and it doesn't matter because your side needs to work together and that's what we have," he said.
"We don't have the names of other sides because we're pretty much an unknown side, but they're all buying in to what we're doing."
First grade kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
