The Lake Cathie Public School student is one of the first students at the school to make the state championships and dedicates two days a week to perfecting his skills each week.
He is a member of the Laurieton Swim Club and this year he won the under 7 age champion at the club breaking the record in both the 33m and 66m freestyle.
This record was set back in 2007.
The versatile champ, Blake swims all the strokes but preferences freestyle when it comes to competitions.
Blake said the best part about swimming is going fast.
"The best bit about swimming if when you get to dive into the water and the rush you get when you win," he said.
At the school's swimming carnival Blake swam 47:31, at the district meet in Port Macquarie he cut that down to 46:06 and 42.79 in Sydney.
