Master Bob Newton led participants in a number of exercises.
Mr Newton said when doing Tai Chi people should relax completely.
"The aim is to throw every bone and muscle wide open so the chi can travel through," he said.
"We call Tai Chi moving meditation because it forces the body into a meditative state, relaxing and ensuring all your concentration is on moves and not what is going on in life.
Tai Chi is both an integrated exercise and an enjoyable sport for all.
"The goal is to bring your mind in harmony with your body," Mr Newton said.
