Pre-polling opens in Port Macquarie on Wednesday May 1, and May 11 in Laurieton and Wauchope.
There are eight candidates looking to replace the retiring member Luke Hartsuyker.
In ballot order they are:
- Ruth Meads, Christian Democratic Party (Fred Nile Group)
- Pat Conaghan, The Nationals
- Alex Stewart, United Australia Party
- Andrew Woodward, Labor
- Rob Oakeshott, Independent
- Lauren Edwards, The Greens
- Kellie Pearce, Animal Justice Party
- Allan Green, Independent
Candidates have already indicated where they are advising voters to place their preferences.
The increasing popularity of pre-polling is likely to see up to 25 per cent of voters cast their vote early in the May 18 election.
Here's is a run down of pre-polling in the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area.
Port Macquarie
Pre-polling in Port Macquarie is at the Old ANZ Building, 2/49 Horton Street.
There is assisted wheelchair access to the site.
Day and times are,
Wednesday May 1 to Friday May 3, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Monday May 6 to Thursday May 9, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Friday May 10, 8.30am until 6pm.
Saturday May 11, 9am until 4pm.
Monday and Tuesday, May 13, 14, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Wednesday May 15, 8.30am until 6pm.
Thursday May 16, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Friday May 17, 8.30am until 6pm.
Laurieton
In Laurieton, pre-polling is at the Camden Haven Scout Hall on Tunis Street.
This venue is not wheelchair accessible.
Day and times are,
Saturday May 11, 9am until 4pm.
Monday May 13 and Tuesday May 14, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Wednesday May 15, 8.30am until 6pm.
Thursday May 16, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Friday May 17, 8.30am until 6pm.
Wauchope
At Wauchope you can pre-poll at Wauchope CWA Hall which has assisted wheelchair access.
Day and times are,
Saturday May 11, 9am until 4pm.
Monday and Tuesday May 13, 14, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Wednesday May 15, 8.30am until 6pm.
Thursday May 16, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
Friday May 17, 8.30am until 6pm.
