In a high-quality Hastings Easter Baseball Carnival final, Muppets claimed a 5-3 win over Twins after an intense six-innings battle.
Not to be outdone, local teams Spartans and Pirates performed strongly with a three-win, two-loss record across the three days.
But it was Pirates' 3-0 win over Twins in the round games that gave association president Dave Boyton the most pleasure.
"There's no doubt they looked and played the most professional and took it the most serious, but no one was playing for sheep stations," Boyton said.
"We fielded our full-strength side (for that match) to make a point more than anything.
"We wanted to know how we'd shape up against them."
Over the weekend, 22 games were completed with every team except for St Mary's registering at least one victory.
"It's a bit of a change from recent years where there usually is one or two (standout teams)," Boyton said.
"The local teams went okay, but it depends on the availability of the local players how well we go.
For us it was all about trying to give everyone equal time and having a bit of fun; we ran out of depth at the end.

"For us it was all about trying to give everyone equal time and having a bit of fun; we ran out of depth at the end."
Inclement weather throughout the weekend threatened to force the abandonment of some matches, but the decision to play on proved the right one.
"We're over the moon we got through the weekend despite some inclement weather; it was fantastic," Boyton said.
"The rain didn't affect the baseball or the field over the weekend and there were no real standout teams."
Spectator numbers were an improvement on previous years with several hundred watching the final on Sunday afternoon.
"We seemed to get a few more there this year than we did last year which was great," Boyton said.
He admitted the carnival was at its limit due to the size of the venue.
"We probably can't make it any bigger to be honest because we're a bit restricted with having it only at the one venue.
"We want everyone to come back again next year and confident they will."
Final points tally: Twins 10, Muppets 8, Pirates 6, Spartans 6, North Ryde RSL 6, Beer Pigs 4, St Mary's 0.
