He has had regular gigs at all the music venues in the Hastings from the Tacking Point Tavern, to Port Macquarie (Macca) Hotel, The Beach House, Finnian's Irish Tavern, Town Green Inn, Panthers Port Macquarie, The Royal Hotel Kew, and at many festivals, either solo or with the many line-ups of his band Reggie D & the Bloozers.
He is a passionate supporter of fundraisers including the Hastings Cancer Trust, providing his artwork for auctions, and performing for charitable causes. You might also have seen him spruiking at stores to rustle up customers for specials, busking along Horton Street, or running raffles at the Macca to raise money for local sports clubs.
When he arrived in Port Macquarie 33 years ago, he worked and lived at the Sand Castle Motor Inn, which used to have live bands play in the beer garden on Sunday afternoons.
"When I was there I used to get up and do a number or two with the band." That's when his dream of one day playing his music at Town Beach began. "Just about everywhere you go on a trip overseas, you'll always find music on the beach. And this Saturday, April 20, my dream will come to reality."
With Phill (Harmonic) Moore on harp and Bernie on guitar, Reggie will stir up the sand at Salty Crew Kiosk across the road from The Sand Castle, where is all began.
"I'm really looking forward to it. So if good music is your thing, head along from 1pm until 5pm. It's going to be a good day," the journeyman musician says.
