As part of local Youth Week activities the library hosted its 10th annual manga and anime cosplay event for young people.
Jim Maguire from the Port Macquarie library said it was a great day of celebration.
"Our annual cosplay event is an opportunity for young people to express themselves in a way they love," Mr Maguire said.
"It is great that they can come to the library and see we really are a space the whole community can come and enjoy.
"We also have a great range of manga books and anime DVDs for people to borrow and we host events like this to cater to the whole community."
Mr Maguire said the 10th anniversary of the event it is a special time for library.
"This is our 10th cosplay event as part of Youth Week and we are really proud of that fact," he said.
"Each year the costumes get more extravagant and creative and you can definitely see the time and dedication that went in to making them."
