Matt is also the author of a critically-lauded book on the asbestos industry.
Matt began his career with the ABC in 1973. He became a chief political correspondent and worked as a foreign correspondent in the United States and in London.
Over the course of his career he played a pivotal role in uncovering the corruption and spin of the asbestos industry over three decades, culminating in his 2009 book Killer Company: James Hardie Exposed. His story was told in the mini-series Devil's Dust which screened on ABC TV in 2012.
Local ABC Friends member, Kerri-ann Jones said everyone is welcome to attend the presentation and listen to Matt talk about his career.
Matt will be appearing at 5.30pm at the CWA, 11 Horton St Port Macquarie.
