Port Macquarie Historical Society president Clive Smith said with the rest of NSW celebrating young people this week it only made sense for the museum to get involved.
"We celebrate seniors week so why not youth?" Mr Smith said.
Mr Smith said the museum doesn't usually get many young people.
"We do get children with their parents but not teenagers or people in their early twenties."
He said there was a lot for young people to enjoy at the museum.
"Get some local history, have fun dressing up in historical costumes and getting your picture taken," he urged young people.
The Port Macquarie Historical Museum will be free for young people until the 18th April.
