The trek will give him time out from coaching the Port Macquarie Pirates Rugby Club's first grade side as he takes on the Ride For Country Kids hosted by Royal Far West from April 7 to 9.
Harding will join over 60 cyclists riding from Albury to Lake Cargelligo.
He intends to dedicate completing the event in honour of a friend who tragically lost his son at age nine.
"Ten years ago a very close friend, Bill Wearn, lost his only son Fraser, 9, in a tragic farm accident," Mr Harding said.
"Five years ago Bill contacted six close friends all who knew Fraser well, and suggested we ride in Fraser's memory to raise much needed funds for Children in the Country.
"From that we created a group called Fraser's Friends."
Now everybody who rides is aware of Fraser and in some way everyone now rides in memory of Fraser.
The Port Macquarie High School, Wiburd Shield and Yates Shield coach said the Pirates club held a fundraising night with sponsors to get the ball rolling.
"Ryan Moore and Brad Hodge of Moorebeer Brewing Co kindly donated Moorebeer to assist in the fundraising efforts, accumulating over $400 in donations from both sports players and supporters," said Mr Harding.
"It was such a rewarding evening and exemplifies the great camaraderie this year as the Pirates rugby players quite happily donated money knowing it was going to a worthy cause."
Essential Energy is also sponsoring the ride after a chance meeting between Harding and chief executive John Cleland.
After the meeting it was decided three orange Tour de France style riders tops will be auctioned off and Essential Energy t-shirts will be distributed to schools along the way.
"Knowing the emotional attachment we all have to Fraser and everything he stands for, they will be a highly sort after piece of memorabilia," said Mr Harding.
"Essential Energy is a huge part of regional, rural and remote NSW and forging this partnership is just another great example of the contribution they make to our local communities."
The trip is in its sixth year and aims to raise at least $500,000 for health, education and disability services to support families in rural communities.
