Unfortunately, rain set in just after 11am and games were called off for the rest of the day for the safety of the players and officials.
Sunday saw bright skies again, ready for the second representative carnival of the season at Great Lakes.
Hastings Valley's 12's Rep team travelled for their first representative carnival and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Coach Jodie Burge was very happy with their first outing.
Seven games played for six wins, only losing to Westlakes in the last game of the day by two goals.
"Sunday was not all about winning" said Burge.
"It was about learning how to play as a team under pressure while showing great sportsmanship towards each other and their opposition."
Burge is under no illusions that the team has lots to work on over the coming 12 weeks.
They have six more carnival outings leading up to the division two junior state titles at Baulkham Hills in July.
HVNA 14's rep side also attended the Great Lakes carnival.
It was their first carnival of the year and they won all games. All players worked hard and with only eight players their fitness was tested.
A good start to the season but coach Ann Heaton knows they have to work hard in the coming months in preparation for division one at the junior state titles.
Other HVNA teams attending the carnival were our 11s, 12s and 13s development teams and 13's representative team.
The 11's development teams loved their first experience at a representative carnival, and were impressed with the standard of play for their age group.
