Founding club member John Butler said they had a great roll-up and a good day, with visitors from Coffs Harbour and Taree, as well as the Hastings, who brought some wonderful machines. The money raised will go to the palliative care unit at Wauchope hospital.
"When people retire, they often get back into biking, and they have the time and the money to restore bikes," said John.
"A lot of people have bikes that they have had since they were brand-new. They might have languished in a shed for a while, but then they restore them," he explained.
"We have several rides a month, go to a coffee shop and show off the bikes. Then we have rides to South West Rocks or up the mountain, and occasionally up to Gingers Creek, and once a year, the Walcha Challenge," he said.
Graeme Branch was there with his 1951 Ariel Square Four, 1000 cc, plus side car. He bought it a decade ago from someone who restored it.
"I own a few bikes. I like them all. The style is attractive. Classic bikes are 30 years or older," he said.
