The closest finish of the day was in the fifth event when Ikaba was claimed in the shadow of the post by Lethal Dream with the nose victory continuing the great run of success being enjoyed by popular Coffs Harbour trainer, Joanne Hardy.
Enseguida was responsible for the most comprehensive win for the day when the Nathan Doyle trained gelding cleared out to score by a length and a half over Dansk Havn and Lightsontheharbour.
Well ridden by Luke Cumberland, the son of The Factor was well positioned early in running before being set alight as the field approached the bend.
After his debut run when placed at Gilgandra behind Femtometre, Enseguida defied a betting drift to win and stamp himself as a horse to follow for the future.
Following overnight rain, the track was rated a soft six which tended to favour horses finishing fast down the outside section of the track in the straight.
The exception to this pattern occurred when new district arrival, John Grisdale, was able to stay close to the inside in accounting for Ikaba and Whonicked De Lolly in the Class 1 event.
