Rovers have missed the semi-finals by the barest of margins (one point) but have displayed enough this season to show they will be there next year.
Macquarie took the opportunity to blood some young players and finished with 138 after batting first.
Sam Dwyer was best with 30, Luke Boxhall 29 and Ian Strauss 24.
Young pace ace Harry Nemmes took 3-27 and Matt Scott 2-19.
