Students from Heritage Christian School took part in the inaugural event organised with Christian youth group, Word of Life on March 5.
Physical education teacher Cassy Cato said many of the activities were about promoting team work and sense of place at the school.
"It's our first year of the festival but hopefully it will become a yearly event," she said.
"The purpose is to set up what the school is about, they are having fun but they are also learning at the same time.
"It gives them a sense of the place."
During the day students competed in sack races, teamwork events, dodge ball and obstacles courses.
Earlier in the morning on March 5, students took on a blow up obstacle course at Port Macquarie stadium and a drama workshop.
