Life-saving grants still open for local sports clubs
Half a million dollars is available to local sports clubs as part of the NSW government’s Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.
This is Round 3 of the four-year $4 million program, recognising the important role sport plays in our community. The program helps sports organisations buy Automated External Defibrillators (AED), which can be used to respond to cardiac emergencies.
It’s critical that sport and recreation facilities are equipped with this life-saving equipment, and I urge local sports organisations to apply for funding in the current round as soon as possible for the best chance of securing a grant. Eligible sports clubs and organisations can receive between $1250 and $1900 in funds towards the cost of a defibrillator.
Since the start of the program in 2017, the NSW government has committed to provide $985,000 to sport and recreation facilities to assist with the purchase of 780 defibrillators.
Applications close May 6, 2019. Details about applications and eligibility at: sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants/defibrillator
