As part of the trial for On Demand Public Transport, two services will be running in Thrumster and Upper Rolland Plans to Port Macquaire on Wednesday morning and afternoon.
The trial involving Cooee Busways, allows passengers to book a ride directly over the phone or online at 4.30pm the day before their travel.
Then ride for the cost of a public transport fare with pick up from safe locations along the main bus route.
Busways North Coast-South regional support manager Mark Lawrence said the Cooee buses commenced on January 16 and would be monitored to determine their use in the community.
"It's designed for areas of need, for people that need public transport and may not have a private vehicle or provide an alternative to inconvenient private transport." he said.
"As the community becomes more aware it is new we expect small incremental uptake.
"It's all part of the modernisation of public transport using pick up and express zones.
"At the end of the day its driven by community demand and we're hoping its going to be a success."
