The holiday festivities will be flowing, crowds cheering, cars sliding and rims glowing as the city hosts over 70 drift racers for the Spawn The Drift car racing event.
The event is on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, 9am until 5pm.
Event manager Louise Smith said the main competition would feature drivers from Queensland and New South Wales on April 20, as well as adult-themed body painted and caped mascots.
"We will have some of Australia’s best Drifters attending. Quite a few compete in the Hi-Tec Oils Drift series," she said
"There is a team competition on Saturday around lunchtime where three cars will drive on tandem which is a great show.
"This is a one of a kind competition as we are not aware of any other team competitions in Australia that includes three drifters in tandem."
"We have held two successful private events at the track over the last year... we thought we would open it up to the public at our next event."
For those looking at getting behind the wheel, attendees (over 18 years old, with long sleeve shirt and pants) can take a hot lap with one of the drifters.
A family day with Easter activities is expected for the Sunday including non-competitive expression sessions throughout the day, an egg hunt and Easter Bunny visit.
"On the Sunday we are focusing on families and will have a lot of Easter activities for the family," said Ms Smith.
"There will be pony rides... a jumping castle and inflatable slide, inflatable obstacle course and other children’s rides.
"We will also have a mechanical Bull for a two hour competition with small prizes for the people who can stay on the longest.
"We have a new ride call bungy run that involves you being on an inflatable run and extending out as far as you can to place your mark."
The event is organised by Hi-Tec Oils Drift Competition's Flash Smith and sponsored by Shannons, for more information visit www.spawnthedrift.com
