The talented youngster would fancy his chances of finishing on the podium with his current best efforts on the 14-metre line enough to challenge the best in his division.
Competition organiser Jason Stone said it was the perfect opportunity to tune up for the nationals at Moree which will be held over the Easter long weekend.
“Tiger has really knuckled down especially with the nationals being up the road, he’s been inspired,” he said.
“He’s been in form and being on the 14-metre line it should get him on the podium this weekend.
“He has a couple of other lead-up events in the next couple of weeks as well.”
Around 40-50 skiers from around the country will head to Telegraph Point, including men’s over-45 national record holder Barry Mason.
Terry Cox will also compete in the men’s open division.
Australian under-21 champion Archie Davis is one of a number of skiers who will not compete this weekend.
“Some of our regular skiers will be missing due to a clash of events which can happen around this time of year,” Stone said.
Skiers will have the added bonus of a cash prize pool with $10 from every entry going into a final amount after four rounds.
“Whoever skis closest to their PB over the four rounds could win the cash prize,” Stone said.
Waterskiers take to the water from 9am on both Saturday and Sunday.
