The Port Macquarie Dog Club will stage the event on the Town Green from 9am to midday.
The event will include agility races with handlers directing their dogs through jumps, tunnels and weave poles.
Port Macquarie Dog Club chief obedience instructor Tina Paul said the dogs and their owners worked as a team.
There will also be two group teams, with three to four dogs and their handlers in each team, and they will race each other to complete a relay course.
Obedience and trick demonstrations will also be part of the event.
Mrs Paul said handlers were able to showcase their dogs’ talents, and it was great fun for the dogs and great fun for the handlers too.
Port Macquarie Dog Club, which has about 200 members, has experienced instructors volunteering their services with the aim of offering training programs for the community.
The club aims to offer a safe, fun environment for dog owners to learn how to become better dog citizens, while also giving those who wish to explore dog sports the opportunity to participate and compete to gain titles for their dogs.
