Wauchope RSL fishing club had their monthly outing on January 4.5 and 6, and with the warming up so was the fishing as our club has had a successful month of competition.

The Beach/rock & estuary Dan Murphy weighed in bass with his best being 0.970kg, Graham Lamb weighed in bream his best being 0.600kg and a beaut flathead of 2.80kg,
Darryl Hollis weighed in bream with his best being 0,650kg, Brook Cook weighed in whiting her best being 0.280kg and dean Cook weighed in bream with his best being 0.400kg.
For the juniors Hudson Cook weighed in bream with his best being 0.300kg and Chloe Cook weighed in bream and whiting just behind with her best bream being 0.298kg. Hudson also took out the $15 voucher for his catch for the juniors.
Deep sea/estuary also had a great outing with Brett Hollis weighing in flathead, pearl perch, snapper and barracuda of 1.30kg. Terry Hollis weighed in flathead, pearl perch and snapper with his pearl perch being 1.2kg.
Wauchope RSL fishing club also competed in the recent Hastings District Freshwater fishing competition with success for our club again in retaining the trophy as champion club.
Also our teams were champions in their respective groups. Veteran champion team was Graham Lamb, Darryl Hollis, Men’s champion team Kyle Clarke, Matt Rumble, Blake Lamb, Dan Murphy and our junior champion was Kalan Clarke.
Our next outing is on February 1,2 and 3, with lines down at 6pm Friday February 1, and the weigh-in at the rear bbq area of the RSL club at 2pm Sunday 3rd.
The target species are as follows – Deep sea/estuary (all juniors and seniors) Dolphin fish, snapper, morwong. Beach/Rock/Estuary (Seniors) whiting, jewfish, garfish. (Juniors) catfish, garfish, whiting. (sub juniors) whiting, bream, flathead
