A man has been charged after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a woman in his care last year.

Police will allege that between Monday October 1 2018 and Thursday November 1 2018, a 38-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man while she was in his care.
The incident was reported to Mid North Coast Police District in November 2018 and an investigation began.
After extensive inquiries, just after 7am today (Wednesday January 9 2019), officers from Mid North Coast Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Hampton Court in Port Macquarie, where a number of electronic devices were seized.
Later that morning, a 62-year-old man attended Port Macquarie police station where he was arrested.
He was charged with aggravated sexual assault - victim with cognitive impairment, carer having sexual intercourse - person with cognitive impairment and aggravated indecent assault - victim has cognitive impairment.
The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 6 February 2019.
