The winds are north to northeasterly 25 to 40 km/h, and with the temperatures climbing to 32 celsius today and the outlook sunny, it’s tempting to head to the sea.
But lifeguard supervisor James Turham says that while Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie will be most protected, swell size has increased on all beaches, so caution is advised.
Swimmers should go no further than waist-deep, and only experienced surfers should take to the water, unless they are part of a surf lesson.
The outlook for tomorrow is less blustery, with winds northerly 20 to 25km/h becoming south to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the middle of the day, and a maximum temperature of 28 celsius.
