Just after 1.15pm (Thursday January 3), emergency services were called to the scene, about 45km east of Walcha, after reports that a vehicle towing a caravan had rolled.
Two of the occupants died at the scene.
Emergency services, including officers from Oxley Police District, Fire & Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance and a Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter, have successfully freed a third person from the vehicle.
That patient, a 38 year old female, was flown to the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Oxley Highway has been closed in both directions and will remain closed for a number of hours.
