Mr Davies says there has only been a handful of call outs so far.
"We have undertaken four rescues across the last week or so," he said.
"Mostly these have been where boats have either broken down or been out of fuel.
"Overall though it has been quite good.
"The northeasterly winds are fairly strong outside and this has kept many boats inside the river system.
"Everyone has been well behaved and playing it very safe," he said.
Mr Davies urged boat users to ensure their craft was serviced and well maintained prior to taking to the water.
He said in some instances a boat can be idle for 12 to 18 months before being taken out on a trip.
Just make sure your boat is well serviced and it has clean fuel.

"Just make sure your boat is well serviced and it has clean fuel," he added.
The unit commander praised those boats that had taken to the open water.
"The boating community heading out to sea has been really good," he said.
"They are logging on with marine rescue and being very responsible.
"You can log onto channel 16 and log your details with our staff before going outside.
"That way we have a record of your journey and can keep an eye on you."
Mr Davies said he hopes to see a continuation of responsible boating.
There were a number of boats and craft on the river for the New Year's Eve fireworks, he said.
"From what I saw of the event, people enjoyed themselves and stayed clear of the fireworks."
Marine Rescue's next major task will be to lead the sail past for the annual Golden Lure on Saturday morning.
