The combined level of Port Macquarie and Cowarra dams sits at almost 90 per cent.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council acting group manager water and sewer Terry Randall said the water conservation message remained important.
Habit changes such as turning off the tap while you clean your teeth and collecting running water while waiting for the hot water to come through all make a difference.
Mr Randall encourages people, when out and about, to use the 25 water refill stations dotted across the local government area.
He said the refill stations were great places for people to fill up their water bottles and encourage reuse.
Meanwhile, the council is calling on residents and visitors to only flush poo, pee and toilet paper down the loo.
Wet wipes, for example, don’t break down and can cause blockages in the sewerage system.
Placing bins in the bathroom and toilet area provides an easy wet wipe and cotton bud disposal alternative.
Mr Randall also encourages people not to put oil and fat down the kitchen sink.
“At the end of the day, it can save a hefty plumbing bill for blockages in the house,” he said.
“If it does make it through into the council sewerage system, it will be a community impact.”
