In Port Macquarie a colourful display will be on show across two community events.
A family-friendly time-slot of 9pm will enable children to celebrate with their loved ones at the foreshore along the Hastings River.
A second fireworks display will wow the crowd at midnight over the river.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Mayor Peta Pinson said she wished everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
"The beginning of a new year is like spring cleaning,” she said.
“There is so much hope and there are goals to achieve.
“There are plans to be made for the year ahead.
“How lucky are we to live in a region like we do, where the vision we have for our future which is really bright.
Meanwhile thousands of people are expected to seek out vantage points along the Camden Haven River to watch the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Laurieton United Services Club manager Rob Dwyer said the venue has hosted New Year’s Eve for over 30 years.
Mr Dwyer thanked Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce president Sue East and the committee.
“They support the event and provide a grant to assist with the expenses,” he said.
The event will kick off from 5pm at the Laurieton United Services Club with a family fun fair.
There will be activities to appeal to all ages including slides, face painting, rides, music and a jumping castle.
Entertainment from band the Bounty Hunters will start at 7pm.
The 9pm fireworks spectacular is at the Camden Haven River foreshore on Seymour Street, Laurieton.
The event is hosted and funded by the Laurieton United Services Club and Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce.
