The week-long School Sport Australia titles ended on December 8.
Enfield was a member of the under 16s boys all stars outfit that grabbed third place in the school-based competition.
The year 8 student from Hastings Secondary College, Port Macquarie Campus gained selection in the team after reaching the state final.
In tough competition at the Australian titles, there was a small spread between first and fourth placings, said Kayle's father Corey.
"The final was extremely close and could have been entirely different, even down to a one wave difference," he said.
Fourteen year old Kayle is a member of the Port Macquarie Boardriders Club and has been surfing for about a decade.
He regularly competes in open category to give himself tougher competition.
The youngster says he is enjoying his surfing.
"It is always really good fun to get out in the water with your friends and have some social time," he said.
"But I also use the time to keep improving too.
"I just love being in the water. The salt water is always healing and being out there with friends and family and chatting with people you don't know is really good.
"I just enjoy the exercise and the fun," he said.
And there are challenges along the way too, like when you have an assignment and the surf is really good.

While he has an eye firmly on one day joining the championship tour, Kayle also has his feet firmly planted.
"It is always kinda tricky trying to balance everything," he admitted.
"You know, juggling school, and surfing and touch football and the other sports.
"And there are challenges along the way too, like when you have an assignment and the surf is really good.
"I just give 100 per cent to everything and you will find a way around it," he said.
"That's kinda what I try and base everything on.
"I hope to continue to improve and hopefully go all the way and compete on the CT - that is my main goal and I think it always will be."
Kayle is an all-round sportsperson and competed at state level in swiming and surfing as an individual competitor while he has competed at regional level in cross country and athletics.
The surfing family are well known in the area and run the Soul Surfing surf school.
