There is never a good time to tell someone their property may be affected by an infrastructure project like the proposed Orbital Road. I acknowledge the stress and anxiety this has caused for some residents.

I’ve spoken to many in the road’s investigation area, and hear loud and clear the impacts the project is having on local property owners and businesses.
I’ve also received lots of feedback from our community that we need to address the increasing traffic volumes we’re experiencing, and this project could not come soon enough.
Council wants to get feedback from and engage with our community now, before more investigation occurs, a route is finalised, and the project is approved by council.
We are committed to providing as much information as possible as the project progresses. This week we will release a new information brochure on the project’s potential timings moving forward, including updated frequently asked questions available on council’s website.
It is important to remember the proposed route for the Orbital Road is not finalised. This is why we are engaging with the community to determine what this route might look like. This also means we don’t know which properties will be affected by property acquisition at this stage. What we do know is under no circumstances will council need to acquire 470 properties for the Orbital Road project.
I encourage everyone to provide feedback and ask questions regarding this important infrastructure project, and to participate in further community engagement opportunities council will roll out in February.
