Shortly after 5pm on December 9, emergency services were called to a shed fire at Wauchope off High Street.
A number of Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Port Macquarie and Wauchope were called as well as police attended the scene.
According to local firefighters no-one was inside the shed however later a NSW Police spokesperson said two people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Asbestos was found at the property so a Fire and Rescue NSW Hazmat crew from Port Macquarie were called in to help.
NSW Police say the fire is being treated as suspicious after eyewitnesses saw figures “fleeing the property shortly before emergency services were called”.
Police investigations are continuing.
Anyone with information in relation to the fire are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or contact the Port Macquarie Police Station on 6583 1099.
