As Christmas fast approaches there’s definitely a vibe that sets in, as we all start looking forward to the holiday period and spending time with family and friends.
There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas time and our beautiful place, than by coming together for the Countdown to Christmas celebrations.
On Thursday, November 29, the Port Macquarie CBD and Town Green will once again come alive with mascot races, the main parade, wonderful local entertainment, lighting of the Christmas tree, fireworks and of course, a visit from Santa.
Make sure you save the date and dust off the reindeer antlers for this much-loved community Christmas celebration.

Community Action Teams
Community planning sessions are now in full-swing, with many local residents attending think-tank sessions with council staff, and letting us know what they’d like to see for the future of their place.
Bonny Hills, Laurieton and the North Shore communities have already come together, and are now onto the next stage of the planning process, with opportunities now available for residents to get involved in a Community Planning Action Team for these areas.
The teams will be responsible for helping to develop the individual plans for each area and prioritise, scope and deliver the actions identified by the local community.
Now’s the time to get involved and really help shape the future of your place, and I encourage everyone in these local areas, to put your hand up and apply.
