Inferno Sports bounced back from some close results to put in the more dominant performance we’ve been used to from them beating Evolution Road Wealth 7-3.
Adrian Daley and Jeremy Smith both grabbed two tries in the win.
Jordan Morris and Ty Foster both crossed twice in Adenbrook Homes’ 8-2 win over Chocky Territory.
Jacob Prince and Aston Pollard toiled hard for the Chocky’s as they showed some positive signs for one of the younger teams in the competition.
A player of the match and two try performance from Tahlia Hopkins wasn’t quite enough for Watsons Caravans to upset Laurieton Hotel.
Laurieton Hotel got the win 4-3 in the end on the back of another stellar match from Sarah Stewart who just keeps getting better every week.
Tries to Linda Bryan, Megan Bryant and Anna Gleeson proved the difference in Engage ICT’s 3-0 win over GN Painting and Decorating.
This game was much closer than the scoreline suggests and there’s definitely some promising signs for the women’s opens team heading into the state cup.
The men’s social competition put up some cracking games this week with Luke Bullus Painting edging Port 55’s 6-5 and The Bunch scored late to down Ricardo’s Tomatoes 3-2.
In the women’s social competition El Paso Motor Inn accounted for Socialites 11-0 and Constable Printing were too strong for Salty Pretzels 4-2.
The Settlers Inn mixed competition also got underway on Thursday night with two divisions.
In division 1, Joel Antilla led McGrath Estate Agents to a 4-3 win over Luke Bullus Painting, scoring a double.
Tara Newby and Tyrone Flanagan both grabbed doubles for the Mad Hatas as they beat Darren Northey Interior Linings 7-3.
Division 2 had the match of the round with Mount Seaview and J&J Excavations playing out a thrilling 4-4 draw.
A hat-trick to Benjamin Johnson looked to have gotten J&J’s home but a late Harrison Grove try, his second of the game, saw the match finish in a draw.
In representative news, a massive congratulations to our Port Makos mixed opens who won the Country Championships at Wollongong last week despite being short of players.
This is back to back titles for them and well deserved for the Aaron Ison led team.
Congratulations also to Jack Lewis, a member of our Port Makos Mixed Opens who claimed the mixed opens Vawdon Cup title over the weekend with Eastern Suburbs.
