The activities begin at 10.30am on October 11 at Westport Park.
The Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre Family Fun Day and Community Services Expo is expected to attract up to 300 people.
The Big Red Bus will provide a barbecue lunch and Terry’s Entertainment will keep the kids happy.
Families can relax to live music from Bated Breath, check out the library van and community services information, enjoy ice creams and join in the picnic races.
Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre coordinator Julie Trowbridge said there would be some old fashioned picnic races and families could do as much or as little as they liked.
“We target the disadvantaged families who can’t generally afford expensive holiday activities but we invite the whole of Port Macquarie-Hastings families to come along,” she said.
A community services expo has been added this year with about 25 services set to offer information and children’s activities at their marquees.
Entry is $1 per person and children must be accompanied by an adult.
