The event was held as part of Fastway Courier’s annual Courier Day.
Couriers, staff, customers and some special guests came together at the Fastway depot in Port Macquarie for a barbecue and celebration to recognise the hard work and dedication of their local Courier Franchisees.
Fastway’s Global Marketing Manager Simon Sproule travelled from Sydney to congratulate the Port Macquarie team and recognise some of the incredible employment milestones in the business.
Local Courier Franchisee and Port Macquarie resident Scott Marks was in the spotlight, recognised as Fastway’s longest serving Courier Franchisee in Australia, celebrating 25 years of delivering for the network. Scott was praised for his hard work and dedication over the 25 years building an incredibly successful courier business.
Since purchasing his first Courier Franchise back in 1993, Scott has successfully grown and expanded his business within the region purchasing additional territories and continually building his customer base whilst maintaining customer service excellence.
Scott was acknowledged as a wonderful role model and example for young members of the Port Macquarie community looking to build their own business.
Fastway Couriers gifted Scott and his wife a packaged weekend away to Sydney.
Administration Manager, Debbie Beresford, was also congratulated for 20 years at Fastway Couriers. In celebrating her 20 year anniversary with Fastway, Debbie reflected on changes in the industry and some of the most unique deliveries she has seen. This includes snakes, lizards, fish, eggs, oysters as well as thousands of the more traditional type of packages!
Regional Franchisee Bill Laing was also recognised as Australia’s longest standing Fastway Couriers Regional Franchisee and was commended on the growth and success of the Port Macquarie business.
Bill Laing thanked the staff and customers for their ongoing support.
“Fastway’s annual Courier Day event is a wonderful opportunity to take a moment to thank our team and recognise important milestones within the business. Thank you to all of our hardworking couriers and staff. Your commitment to excellence does us proud every day,” Mr Laing said.
“A special congratulations to Scott Marks who has been delivering as a part of Fastway for over 25 years now. Scott is the perfect example of what Fastway Couriers strives to be and what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. His attitude and relationship with customers is fundamental to his success. He understands that delivering flowers can be a sign of happiness for anniversaries or equally sadness in times of bereavement and treats every delivery with respect.
“Scott has built a wonderful reputation over the years and continually goes above and beyond to delight every customer at the door.”
“A big thank you to all of our customers as well for your ongoing support over the years and for those who were able to attend our Courier Day event this year,” Mr Laing said.
