The jaw-dropping orchid was part of the day one display at the annual spring show. It is on at Panthers Port Macquarie.
Mr McNaught said Dendrobium soft cane is predominately yellow. It was grown and exhibited by B and J Lennon from Port Macquarie.
“It is the most spectacular example of this orchid,” Mr McNaught said.
“It is worth coming to the show just to see this prize-winning variety.
“The flowers are perfectly aligned down both sides of the cane – which is incredibly good to see.
“It is a wonderful example of the Dendrobium I’ve seen,” he said.
While the weather has played havoc with some of the displays, the society says the exhibition is still a wonderful example of orchids and bromeliads.
The annual show is open again on Sunday September 23 from 9am until 3pm at Panthers Port Macquarie.
