In December 2012 this district was in drought. Many farmers and Church attending people proposed a prayer meeting on this issue. In January 2013 that prayer meeting went ahead. The Lord was gracious to us and rapidly answered those prayers. In the middle of that particular prayer meeting a distant rumble of thunder was heard. Before the meeting was over a storm was dropping significant rain on the roof of the Church building.
It was the turn of the tide. God answered those prayers with a “yes” that was readily observed as more rain fell over the coming weeks and months. Eventually there was significant flooding.
Arising out of that first prayer meeting has arisen a monthly prayer meeting. Five years later it still exists. It is devoted to asking the Lord for benefits from Him for Wauchope and the district. This sometimes includes asking for rain. He often enough still gives us an easily seen “yes” to those requests. Sometimes we know that in His sovereignty He is implementing different plans.
So there will be a prayer meeting devoted to rain, both locally and further afield. It will be held at it’s usual venue, The Wauchope Presbyterian Church’s buildings (30 Bain St.) at 7 pm on Sunday 30th September. Regular attenders should note that this is a week earlier than normal. Everyone and anyone is encouraged to attend.
