It all started when a customer informed St George Bank Port Macquarie branch manager Karen Hales about the great work of Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse.
Ms Hales then contacted Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse chief executive officer Rob Moorehead.
The branch gave a $2000 donation from its community funding to Endeavour Clubhouse.
The money will go towards computers and IT equipment for members.
Ms Hales said the donation would make such a difference and that was what she was looking for.
St George provides every branch with community funding to give to a community organisation in the local area they know needs a helping hand.
St George head of regional banking Neelam Tandon said all the branches were encouraged to reach out to worthy community organisations who might need a helping hand.
“We find more than anyone, our branch staff know of local charities who are supporting local families and the broader community,” she said.
“This is their way of supporting them whether that be through be fundraising in the branch, volunteering or donating.”
Mr Moorehead said the donation was absolutely wonderful.
He said it made him proud that St George Bank Port Macquarie branch had chosen to support Endeavour Clubhouse after hearing about its work.
“Every day that makes me so proud of what we do and so proud of our community,” Mr Moorehead said.
