The week starts on Saturday September 1.
Port Macquarie CWA Evening branch president Gay Cowan says the decision to focus on health will resonate with local members.
"CWA has lobbied the state government and industry bodies to ensure the right decisions are made for the state for many years," Mrs Cowan said.
"The annual awareness week campaign dedicates CWA's resources into this one week. The focus is always on a cause that is close to the hearts of our membership.
"We use this week to advocate for change and to create understanding of a key issue or issues.
"This year’s awareness week campaign will focus on healthcare inequality. This is central to the organisation’s core purpose, which is to improve the lives of women and children in regional and rural NSW."
The Port Macquarie Evening Branch will have an information stand and a display at the library for Awareness Week from 10am on Monday September 3.
The CWA has been further challenged by the problems faced by farmers during the ongoing drought, Mrs Cowan said.
The CWA of NSW has already distributed nearly $500,000 as drought relief to farming households. Branches are fundraising so that funds can continue to be dispersed, she said.
As members we are proud to say that every cent donated to the CWA of NSW for the drought fund reaches the farmers.

"As members we are proud to say that every cent donated to the CWA of NSW for the drought fund reaches the farmers," the branch president said.
Members will have a collection point for the public to contribute during the week at the library.
The Hastings Cancer Trust was another recipient of the branch’s fundraising efforts.
Whilst working for the overall aims of the association, branches are empowered to run their own agenda and are focused on addressing issues affecting their own local communities.
The evening branch has donated many handicraft items during the year; helping the homeless with knitted items for the cold weather, toiletry goods to the Women’s Refuge, twiddle muffs and clothing protectors to nursing homes.
Port Macquarie Evening Branch meets at 7.15 pm on the third Wednesday of the month at the Lion’s Den, Hastings River Drive.
Mrs Cowan said CWA has a state-wide membership of 8000 with 400 local branches. The Port Macquarie CWA Evening branch boasts almost 30 members.
