The 2018 Port Macquarie-Hastings Business Confidence Survey, prepared by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, aims to provide businesses with the opportunity to be part of the collective business community voice on trading conditions and to share their views with the council.
The business confidence survey is open until August 31.
The data gathered will be used to help measure business confidence and gauge the overall condition of our economy.
Council director Jeffery Sharp said the survey provided a snapshot of how our business community was tracking and helped the council identify how they worked together to create an environment conducive to sustainable economic development.
“Our region has been growing rapidly over the last few years and it’s important we understand the effects this growth is having on our business community by getting their feedback,” he said.
“By comparing this year’s results with previous surveys we are able to identify trends locally and develop initiatives alongside industry to help businesses in our region succeed.”
Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce president Michael Mowle encouraged businesses to take part in the survey.
He said the survey would give the council a gauge about how businesses were travelling.
“The more people that respond, the more reliable the overall feeling will be,” Mr Mowle said.
“I think really it [the survey] is something all businesses should do.”
Business owners can expect to be contacted by phone or email over the coming month and are asked to put aside five to 10 minutes to complete the survey.
The survey can also be completed on the council’s website.
“Council encourages all local businesses to take part in this year’s survey and to have their say on the important factors for business and economic growth in our region,” Mr Sharp said.
Results from the 2018 business confidence survey will be analysed and communicated in October 2018.
