Currently 99 per cent of NSW is in drought, resulting in failing crops, drastic water shortages and a diminishing supply of fodder to sustain livestock.
Here’s how you can help.
Big barbecue
Four Espresso cafe on Clarence St, Port Macquarie will host a barbecue from 11am and donate $2 from every cappuccino sold on Thursday August 2, along with Waniora Butchery, Kenny Little's Fruit and Veg and Wauchope Bakery who have all donated to the day.
As well as an extra a donation tin, neighbouring business Gold Dust Trader will donate 10 per cent of all winter stock sold on the day and The Hollow is doing a cash donation.
Bunnings sizzles
Bunnings Port Macquarie will hold a drought appeal sausage sizzle on Friday, August 3 between 9am and 4pm to support the Buy a Bale program.
Bucket drop
Lake Cathie-Bonny Hills Junior Rugby League Club will be holding a bucket drop on Saturday, August 4 at the Lake Cathie sports fields from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Make a donation.
Grocery drop-off
Hastings Co-op now has six drought appeal collection points at Wauchope IGA, Timbertown IGA, Port Macquarie IGA, Mitre 10, Comboyne Rural Store and Lasiandra Service Station.
Co-op's Lasiandra, Cedar and Bolwarra Road, Port Macquarie Service Stations are also awaiting the arrival of official 'Buy a Bale' collection tins so customers can donate money to the cause.
Coles Lake Innes is also collecting on behalf of The Official Aussie Helpers Page. Non perishable donations can be left at the store to be sent to the Tamworth area.
In the Camden Haven, non-perishable food items can be dropped for the Food Drive for Carinda at the Camden Haven Courier office, Kew Corner Store and Kendall Takeaway.
Hay drop
The Norco Rural Store in Wauchope is sending truckloads of hay west to farmers hit by drought. You can purchase hay bales to send at the store.
Bank support
The Commonwealth Bank in Wauchope is raising funds to support farmers with all proceeds being distributed to the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners.
Customers will also be able to support by attending the local fundraising day taking place on Friday August 17 at Wauchope Commonwealth Bank.
Beechwood Buys a Bale
The Beechwood Buys A Bale drought relief fundraiser at Beechwood Cafe on August 25 will start at 6pm, with live music, raffles and lucky door prizes.
Local businesses who are interested in donating raffle prizes please contact Jessica Williams on 0419492037 who is also selling $20 tickets for the big night.
Rotary digs deep
Wauchope Rotary’s drought relief kitty now stands at $8,000.
As a District project, Rotary Australia Compassionate Grants (RACG) will match all donations on a dollar for dollar basis, up to $15,000.

Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) will hold a Bush Bash Ball on September 15 at 6.30pm in Wauchope Showground Hall, with entertainment from Chainsaw, Jo and Waddo. Tickets $30.
Dinner and charity auction
Wauchope Show Society will be holding a Drought Breaker Dinner and Charity Auction at Wauchope RSL Club on Saturday, October 13.
